Recently Completed Workshop!
I partnered with NICER Training/Cultivate, to run an up-skilling workshop for unemployed community members at St. Michael’s Estate in Inchicore. We were appointed by the St. Michael’s Regeneration Board to run a workshop with the community to facilitate the design and installation of the Tyrone Place Community Garden.
To do so, I ran a 4 week-long design and build workshop. The course started with two participatory design sessions where the group voted on design preferences and used an interactive to-scale model to explore the physical design of the space. I drafted a Consensus Plan based on the group’s preferences and we set off to build the garden. Participants earned a FETAC 3 in Plant Propogation, learned key skills in landscape design and building, and completed the installation of the project in just over four weeks.
An official Open Day will be held in late May, but the garden is up and running and just waiting for the weather to turn for the better!
